Feltie/VFeltie… watcha gonna do?
The last few days we have been adding more and more FVeltie’s to the website, with a TON more to come. Being a new item, I have had several ask , “What are these things?”
Well… lemme just show you, but first I’ll tell you why we decided to carry them.
Stephen’s business is very busy at times, and sometimes it gets overwhelming for him. With me trying to get my own business off the ground, I’d like to let go of more and more of Stephen’s and allow him to work it himself. One day last summer we got to thinking about all the social distancing. Our homeschool classes were not a thing anymore, and I know a whole lot of moms missed craft time. So Stephen and I were brainstorming, and we got to thinking that it would be nice to provide easy crafts that kids could do on their own without a lot of help from busy parents. And by creating little crafty items, this would save Stephen some time along the way.
Given the fact that we were so busy at the alpaca farm for the last three months of 2020, we decided to put off our idea until this year.
Enter in Valentine’s Gnomes!
Lookin’ a little scruffy there, he’s not completely trimmed on his thread (busy mom missed that before she took a photo); but he’s all trimmed out and ready to use.
ON WHAT do you ask?
Well…
If you had several, you could add them to a holiday wreath. We will be releasing VFelties or Felties for every holiday.
(By the way, a Feltie means its made completely out of felt, and a VFeltie means that we use Vinyl on the front for a classier product.
The coolest thing about the wreath is, you could just buy ANY wreath that you loved and attach a Vfeltie to it. Say that you have a star athlete in your home, I am sure we can come up with something to put on your wreath related to their sport/ number.
Or perhaps you’ve a new baby you want to announce. Finished wreaths are found anywhere, and it only takes a bit to embellish them to make them yours.
HOW? super, super, super easy.
If you decide to save some money and purchase untrimmed (recommended if you are going to start purchasing often as a new craft. ) In this case you need some good quality scissors. We just buy leather scissors on Amazon.
One you have your feltie all trimmed out, you are ready to attach to product. Of course, you will need to over see with children. But I’ve found glue dots (the craft non- removable version) a great alternative to glue.
If you are old enough to use a hot glue gun, it’s ok and good enough for the initial tiniest of tack down’s to hold it in place.
The two glues photo’d here are the best for attaching the feltie to either the slider, or clothes pin. We use a clothes pin on the back for attaching to wreaths or holiday trees or to make fridge magnets.
Just be aware that these glues are not safe for children, and apparently some adults either. (Have yourself a little google of #gorillagluegirl and you will see what I mean.)
On close I want to show you a Vfeltie in a smaller size, perfect for hair bows, pencil toppers, little prezzies for a lunch box, slip it in an envelope, whatever! Isn’t it cute?
**ALSO: WE CAN MAKE ANY FELTIE YOU SEE INTO A BOOKMARK, HANGER (LIKE AN ORNAMENT) OR A KEY CHAIN TAB**
